Companion Mode in Google Meet

Companion mode lets you join a Google Meet call without adding video and sound (from your device). Companion mode allows you to access interactive features and controls such as chat, screen sharing, hand raising, polls, host controls and more.

How can Companion Mode be used in School?

For Students - If you are delivering hybrid learning, or want to use Meet Tools, such as chat and polls in your lesson, students can all join from the same location and take part in the lesson.

For Teachers - Want to share in a screen from a second device? Now you can join straight into Companion Mode, avoiding feedback from having two devices in the same call.
