Labelling Teaching Weeks in Google Calendar

Lots of schools have two week timetable (sometimes called A Weeks and B Weeks) and it can be difficult for students and staff to know which week they are on. The problem with this is that adding an event for each week takes up a lot of space – especially if you use month view a lot.
 

 
The solution was to use the ability of Google Calendar to read an ICAL file and place an image in the calendar (see above). This enabled a small A or B to be placed at the start of each week to indicate the timetable week.

Please note this is an example – however it's fairly easy to edit and change to different dates to match the pattern used in your school.
